CITY OF CONVERSE X

A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR AN ELECTION ON THE UNIFORM ELECTION DATE IN MAY 2007 AND PLACING ON THE BALLOT THE PROPOSITION: SHALL SECTION 6.01a. OF THE CITY CHARTER BE AMENDED.

WHEREAS, Section 6.01a of the City of Converse Home Rule Charter could be stated in amore clear and concise manner; and,

WHEREAS, the Charter Review Commission recommends amendment of Section 6.01a; and,

WHEREAS, a City wide election is required to amend the City Charter to clarify this issue;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Charter Review Commission of the City of Converse that an election be conducted on the uniform election date in May 2007 on the proposition:

Shall Section 6.01a of the city charter which reads as follows:

Section 6.01 Fiscal Year.

a. The fiscal year of the city shall begin on the first day of April and end on the last day of March. Beginning in October, 1985 the fiscal year of the City shall begin on the first day of October and end on the last day of September. Said fiscal year shall also constitute the budget and accounting year.

Be changed to read:

Section 6.01 Fiscal Year.

a. The fiscal year of the city shall begin on the first day of October and end on the last day of September. Said fiscal year shall also constitute the budget and accounting year.
