With a current population of approximately 11,508, we are located next to Randolph Air Force Base adjacent to Live Oak, Universal City, and the City of Windcrest in northeast Bexar County, just northeast of San Antonio, midway between IH10 and IH 35. Other major roadways providing access to Converse include Loop 1604, FM 78, FM 1516, FM1976, Toepperwein Road, and Kitty Hawk Drive.

City Government
Converse is a Home-Rule City with a Council-Manager form of government consisting of a Mayor and six Council members, each elected at-large for two year terms.

Overview
Converse is a full-service municipality providing the highest quality of affordable services to meet the needs of its citizens. The Converse Economic Development Corporation (EDC) was established to enhance our city’s development and prosperity by working in partnership with new businesses and investors to facilitate responsible high quality commercial & residential growth. Our “Town Square” is currently under construction and scheduled to be completed by late 2008. We also have two Apartment complexes and several single-family residential subdivisions under construction.
