Certified Peace Officer

THE CITY OF CONVERSE is accepting applications for a Certified Peace Officer.  This position requires physical strength and stamina, demands emotional stability to work under stressful and trying conditions.  Requirements are: the applicant must be at least 21 years of age, have the basic certification by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education, current Texas driver’s license and pass a background investigation.  A pre-employment medical and psychological exam along with a drug test is required if a tentative offer of employment is made.  Applications are available at the Police Department located at 402 S. City of Converse Dispatcher

The City of Converse has a full time Emergency Service Center and is accepting applications for experienced full time communication technicians. Applicants must be 18 years or older and have a High School diploma or a GED, have the ability to handle stressful situations, answer phones, typing, and computer data entry and must be able to work shift work. Being TECLOSE certified is a plus.

A pre-employment medical exam and drug test are required if a tentative offer of employment is made.  Applications are available at the Police Department located at 402 S. UTILIITIES DEPARTMENT
UTILITY SERVICEMAN

The City of Converse is accepting applications until the positions are filled for Utility Serviceman in the Public Works Utilities Department.  These full time positions require a current, valid Texas driver's license and High School diploma or equivalent.
